One of my goals as a photographer has always been to get a model, dress up, and do pictures! I mean, come on! How fun is that! Growing up, my little sister and I always went into Mom’s cedar chest and would pull out all of the dresses and play dress up! Now, 25 years later, I get to do it in real life!! Shut up! I get to play dress up, have gorgeous flowers, have a cake, beautiful stationary, amazing dresses, a hair & makeup artist, and work with some of the most amazing women in the tri-state area!! Come on… who gets to call this work?! I most definitely don’t and it was one of the most fun days I’ve had in a long time! Oh, and I got to have the best videographer around to capture all of this! So here is our story, some pictures & video, and our why on doing this!!
This styled shoot took place on the home front of Captured by Corbin Photography in a small country area just minutes from the mighty Mississippi in Dubuque, IA. The tall, unruly grass was the perfect setting for this vintage, romantic shoot.
The inspiration of this shoot came from two vendors wanting to work together to create the ultimate media coverage to capture the perfect love story on your wedding day. Allison Corbin with Captured by Corbin Photography and Ellyse Ungs with Salted Media have teamed up to provide an incredible experience for wedding couples in the tri-state area. With the help of several talented female entrepreneurs, Captured by Corbin Photography and Salted Media’s vision came to life.
The table and chairs were picked from antique and salvage stores! The chair came from The Antique Mall in Dyersville, IA and the chairs came from Antiques & Salvage in Cuba City, WI.

Candles & Candle holders were from Down Home Decor in Dyersville, IA.
Julie Koopmann with CountrySide Salon & Hair Specialist with MONAT was the artist behind Jade’s hair & makeup. She did a soft curl in the hair and very simple makeup to give a very romantic look.
Our model, Jade, wore two different dresses. Both dresses were provided by Shelby Duggan with Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique. The first gown is a Chiffon slim A-line gown. This gown features a ruched bodice outlined with lace appliques. The back is fully illusioned with lace. The train is chapel length with lace cutouts. The second gown is a lace mermaid fit and flare. It's a modified sweetheart with an illusioned plunging V neckline the neckline is adorned with jewels and beading.
The setting….
The bouquet, table centerpiece, and flowers for the cake were provided by HandPickd (Just for You) from Epworth, IA. The bouquet is a romantic European inspired design, with loose textures and flowy elements. Flowers used were astilbe, roses, mixed eucalyptus greens, lisianthus blooms, and dark agonis grass for a contract of darkness.
Thank you to all of the amazing women below that put their time into this shoot! These women dedicate their heart and soul into their business every day and it shows in their work! Love you ladies and keep up the amazing work!
